What is EAN-13?
The EAN-13 barcode is applied to most of the goods that we see every day in stores. The barcode consists of 13 digits, for which it received the corresponding name. EAN-13 codes contain only numbers, for example: 7290012474668. The EAN-13 barcode is used to label products worldwide that are sold at retail outlets. The numbers encoded in the EAN-13 barcode are the product identification number.
Structure number EAN-13
The EAN-13 barcode consists of four parts:
the first 2-3 digits are the country prefix;
the following digits are the code of the manufacturer within the country;
the next group of numbers is the product code;
the last 13th digit is a check digit calculated from the previous twelve.
